My name is Samual Hickery, rugby has been my life for over 25 years and now I have the luxary to call it my profession. From my playing days as a tighthead prop in Wales, through my coaching journey across Europe and North America, rugby has shaped who I am.

In 2018, after retiring from playing, I committed myself fully to professional coaching, working with clubs, academies, and provincial programs. By 2020, I had planned the launch of my own strength and conditioning facility, designed specifically for rugby athletes and multi-sport development. Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic, those doors never opened — but the vision of helping athletes maximize their performance never left. Instead, it evolved into Utopia RCC, where I bring that same expertise directly to the players, coaches, and clubs who need it most, no matter where they are in the world.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with grassroots rugby clubs, university varsity rugby teams, and high-performance academies. From developing player pathways in Lithuania, to implementing modern attack and defense systems in Canada, I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to build not just a successful team, but a sustainable rugby culture.
